Defense Complete solutions for tactical meteorology

Throughout the history of military confrontation, knowledge of the battlefield weather conditions has been an important advantage. Weather influence the performance of both equipment and troops.

Trajectory correction

Failure to apply trajectory corrections for weather conditions causes up to two-thirds of the long-range artillery firing error. Using accurately measured and up-to-date weather data, however, an operator can increase the probability of hitting a target in the first round by compensating for the direction, velocity and density of the air masses the projectile travels through. The most eloquent example of this is the means of applying trajectory correction for classical and unguided reactive artillery ammunition.

Unmanned Air Vehicle Support

Medium and small unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) fly at low altitudes and are consequently directly affected by weather. Given the high value of these aerial assets and of the loads they carry, accurate meteorological information is crucial both in mission planning and during take-off and landing.
